First Gear lines up in Race 6 at Otaki on Friday, 19 December. The track has taken moisture, which Stephen Gray notes will take the fire out of the surface and should provide ideal footing for First Gear to find his rhythm early.

The tactical plan is direct: roll forward from the jump to secure a handy position just behind the speed. Bruno Queiroz is booked to ride.
